1. Who we are
My Inner Circle is a service designed to support young people transitioning from foster care. It provides tools for organizing contacts and documents, finding resources, building a support circle, participating in community spaces, and reaching emergency information. In this policy, “My Inner Circle,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the service. No separate legal organization name or physical business address is currently published for the service.
Questions and privacy requests may be sent to calvin.mackey@gmail.com.
2. Information you provide
Depending on how you use My Inner Circle, you may provide:
- Account and profile information: your email address, password credentials handled by our authentication provider, display name, profile image URL, city, country, and biography when supplied.
- Saved contacts and support-circle information: names, roles, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, addresses, notes, categories, and whether a contact belongs to your team or emergency list.
- Documents: files you upload, together with file name, type, size, category, and storage location. Uploaded documents may contain sensitive information, so you should upload only what you need.
- Community content: posts, post image links, comments, likes, forum topics, forum replies, weekly feed entries, and reports about content or users.
- Administrative records: if applicable, records of moderation, account suspension, resource review, and other staff actions involving your account or content.
The app does not currently provide a customer-support form. If you email us, your email provider and ours will process the message and your email address.
3. Information collected automatically
When you use the service, our hosting, authentication, database, and storage providers may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the service. This may include your IP address, browser or device type, request times, requested pages, authentication events, session information, error information, and security logs. My Inner Circle also keeps an internal audit history of certain staff and administrative actions.
We do not currently use a separate advertising analytics or crash-reporting service. We do not currently collect precise location, use mapping services, or store push-notification device tokens. Notifications are shown inside the app.
4. Sign-in information
Email and password
You may create an account with an email address and password. Authentication credentials and sessions are handled through Lovable Cloud’s authentication service, which uses Supabase infrastructure.
Google Sign-In
If you choose Google Sign-In, the service requests the standard identity information needed to create and authenticate your account: your Google account identifier, email address, name or display name, and profile picture when Google makes it available. We use this information only to sign you in, create or load your My Inner Circle profile, show your identity in the app, and protect your account.
My Inner Circle does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendar, or other Google service content. Apple Sign-In is not currently offered in the app.
5. Google User Data
Google user data accessed by My Inner Circle is limited to the basic sign-in information described above. We do not use Google user data for advertising, sell it, or share it except with service providers that help operate authentication and the app, or when disclosure is required for legal or safety reasons described in this policy. Access is protected through account sessions, access controls, and the safeguards used by our service providers.
You may revoke My Inner Circle’s Google access from your Google Account’s third-party connections settings. Revoking access prevents future Google sign-ins but does not by itself delete information already stored in your My Inner Circle account. To request deletion of that information, follow Section 11 below.
6. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, and maintain accounts and profiles;
- provide document storage, contacts, team lists, emergency contacts, resources, and life-skills tools;
- display community posts, comments, forums, and related member activity;
- send in-app notices about likes, comments, forum replies, report outcomes, or service messages;
- moderate content, respond to reports, enforce service rules, and protect users and the service;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve reliability, safety, and resource accuracy; and
- comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.
7. Who can see information and when it is shared
Your saved contacts and uploaded documents are restricted to your account, although authorized administrators may access information when needed to administer, secure, or support the service. Profile display information and community content are visible to signed-in members as part of the community features. Content reports and moderation records are available to authorized staff.
We may disclose information:
- to service providers that host and operate the app, including Lovable Cloud, Supabase infrastructure, Google for optional sign-in, Cloudflare for application delivery, and Google Fonts;
- when you direct us to share it or make it visible through a community feature;
- to comply with law, court orders, or valid government requests; or
- when reasonably necessary to protect a person, investigate abuse, or protect the service.
We do not sell personal information.
8. Documents and sensitive information
Uploaded documents are stored in a private storage area. Access rules limit each user to files stored under that user’s account. Database access rules also restrict document records and saved contacts, while community content is shared with signed-in members as described above. Connections use the security protections provided by modern web hosting and our service providers.
No online service can guarantee perfect security. Protect your password, sign out on shared devices, avoid posting sensitive details in community areas, and upload only documents you need to use with the service.
9. Retention
We retain account information and user content while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Some information may remain longer when reasonably needed for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal obligations, backups, or enforcement of these terms. The service does not currently publish fixed retention periods for each category of data. We will delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to these limitations.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
You can update available profile fields, remove saved contacts and documents, and delete content where the app provides those controls. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain uses.
To make a request, email calvin.mackey@gmail.com from the address connected to your account. Include your name, account email, the request you are making, and enough detail for us to identify the relevant information. We may ask you to verify that the account is yours before acting.
11. Account and data deletion
My Inner Circle does not currently provide a complete in-app account-deletion control. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email calvin.mackey@gmail.com from your account email with the subject “Account deletion request.” Include your display name and account email. Please do not send your password or copies of sensitive documents.
We will verify the request and delete or de-identify account information that we are not required or permitted to retain. Removing your Google connection does not replace this deletion request.
12. Young people and minors
My Inner Circle is designed to support young people, including people transitioning from foster care. The current service does not collect a birth date, verify age, or provide a guardian-consent workflow. A parent, guardian, caseworker, or agency should decide whether use is appropriate when their consent or involvement is required by law or program rules.
If you believe a child provided personal information without required permission, email us so we can review and take appropriate action. My Inner Circle is not a substitute for a caseworker, guardian, or qualified professional.
13. United States and international processing
The service is focused on Connecticut and United States resources. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. Privacy rights can vary by location. Connecticut and other state privacy laws may provide rights in some circumstances; you may contact us to submit a request. This statement does not claim that every law applies to every user or to the service.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will change the “Last updated” date and may provide an in-app notice when a change is significant. Your continued use after an updated policy takes effect means the updated policy will apply to future use, subject to applicable law.
